Keyboard-first, with undo on everything, and notation coverage wide enough that .gp files arrive with their articulations intact.
Your hands stay on the keys
Move the cursor, set a fret, change the note value, add an articulation — all from the keyboard. Mouse editing is there when you want it, and every operation goes through one undo history.
Notation that survives the round trip
Bends and whammy, harmonics, grace notes, trills, slides, tapping, rasgueado, barre, ornaments, playing directions, fingering, lyrics and chord diagrams. Tonograph reads .gp (Guitar Pro 7 / 8) / .gpx (Guitar Pro 6) and keeps them on the way back out.
The bar tells you when it is short
A meter beside the note palette shows the current bar against its time signature — 4.75 / 4.0 — and bars you left incomplete are marked on the score itself. You find out while you are writing, not at print time.
