Warnings panel

In the warnings tab of the bottom panel, review conversion warnings, bars whose length doesn't fit, and items that couldn't be drawn, then jump to them.

Open the warnings tab#

The Warnings tab of the bottom panel gathers the song’s warnings.

When there are warnings, the tab shows a count. Clicking the counts in the status bar also opens this tab. When there’s nothing to report, it shows This file has no warnings.

The warnings tab of the bottom panel. Three sections, conversion warnings, bar length and not drawn, each with its rows.
The warnings tab

When it opens by itself#

The bottom panel opens on the warnings tab by itself only when you open a .gp file that has conversion warnings.

Once you close the panel or choose another tab, it won’t open by itself again for those warnings. Bar length problems and items not drawn change with every edit, so they never open the panel by themselves.

The three sections#

The warnings tab is split into Conversion Warnings, Bar Length and Not Drawn.

  • Conversion Warnings: things in a .gp file that couldn’t be represented as they were. Each kind gets one row. Clicking a row doesn’t move anywhere. They remain until you close the song
  • Bar Length: bars whose length doesn’t match the time signature. The list updates with every edit. Clicking a row moves the cursor to the start of that bar
  • Not Drawn: things that couldn’t be drawn in the score. Clicking a row that has a location moves to its first occurrence. Only the tracks currently drawn are counted

Matching bar length explains how to fix bars whose length doesn’t fit.

Step through bars that don’t fit#

Press ⌘⌥→Alt+Shift+Right for the next bar whose length doesn’t fit, and ⌘⌥←Alt+Shift+Left for the previous one.

It goes through every track in turn and wraps around at either end.
