Voices
Choose how string sounds are made. The voice is an app-wide setting and isn't saved in the song.
Choose a voice#
Choose the voice with Voice in Audio Output in the left panel.
There are three to choose from. Live String is used at first.
- Live String: computes string vibration on the fly
- Studio String: a lighter method that plays sounds computed in advance
- Analog Synth: plays in a synthesizer-like sound
You can switch during playback without the sound dropping out. The voice you choose is stored in the app and kept the next time you start it. There’s no voice setting in the settings dialog.
What the voice changes#
The voice only changes the sound of string tracks such as guitar and bass.
Instruments without strings, such as piano, and drums sound the same whichever voice you choose. Audio export also uses the voice you’ve chosen.
Overall volume#
Set the overall volume with the Master knob in the same Audio Output section.
It starts at 80%. It also affects the pedalboard meter and the volume of audio export. The value is stored in the app and kept the next time you start it.
If Live String isn’t available#
If Live String fails to start, Studio String is used automatically.
The left panel still shows Live String in that case.
