Keys for

Mute, solo, volume and pan

For each track, choose whether it plays, how loud it is and where it sits between left and right. Also lists what's saved in the song.

Mute and solo#

In a track’s row in the left panel, M silences that track and S plays only that track.

You can solo several tracks. If any track is soloed, tracks without solo don’t play. A track with both mute and solo doesn’t play either. Changes take effect at once, even during playback. See Left panel for where these controls are.

Volume#

Change a track’s volume with the slider in its row in the left panel.

Volume on the Track tab of the inspector, the track properties and the VOL knob on the board all set the same value. It starts at 15, the original level. 0 silences the track, and 16 is slightly louder.

During playback, only the left panel slider moves. You hear the change at once, and it’s recorded in the song when you stop. Volume is saved in the song and can be undone.

Pan#

Set the left–right position with Pan on the Track tab of the inspector.

C is the centre, L is left and R is right. You can also type values such as L3 or C into the number field. Pan is saved in the song and can be undone. It can’t be changed during playback.

What’s saved and what isn’t#

Volume and pan are saved in the song; mute and solo aren’t.

Setting Saved in the song Undo During playback
Mute and solo No No Can be changed
Volume Yes Yes Only the left panel slider can be changed
Pan Yes Yes Can’t be changed

Audio export plays with the current mute, solo, volume and pan. The overall volume is set in Audio Output in the left panel and is separate from track volume.
